Bring Dad/Someone Special to School - 11/15/18

Bring Dad/Someone Special to School
Students have the opportunity to Bring Dad and/or Someone Special to school on Thursday November 15, 2018 anytime from 7:45am-2:25pm.  Come in the AM and enjoy some coffee and light breakfast snacks in the library.  Then walk in the footsteps of your middle schooler by going to class with them - and/or join your student at lunch time. Feel free to bring in lunch from the outside or enjoy the IMS cafeteria.  We would appreciate your help in making this event special for all.  Please click on the sign up genius link to see how you can help.  Thank you in advance!

8th Grade Promotion Celebration
Last Hooray!  Solidify old relationship and make new ones as your 8th grader celebrate with his or her classmates the accomplishments and experiences that have brought them to this point and the excitement and opportunities that lie ahead.

There will be music, food, t-shirt, entertainment, photo booth, and fun, fun, fun!

When:    June 12, 2018 6pm-9pm
Where:   Aspen Grove
Cost:      Suggested donation per 8th grade student in lieu of fundraising event $30-$40.  Donate here 8th Grade Celebration 

Signs of Suicide - Parent Preview 3/12/18

On Monday, 3/12, at 4PM there will be a parent preview of the Signs of Suicide program coordinated by the WCSD counselors and Children’s Cabinet of Reno.  This program consists of two parts.  A classroom presentation that helps students recognize the signs of suicide in themselves or a friend and gives them tools to deal with this situation.  The second part is a screening for signs of depression or suicide in adolescents.  Your child will be bringing home information about the program and a permission slip for the screening.   Only students who have a signed parent permission will be screened. Please read and sign the form and return to your child’s science teacher.  If you have questions please contact Mary Blount at 832-4220 or attend the parent preview on Monday, 3/12 at 4PM.

The next budget event is the final community forum Thursday, February 8th, 2018 at Sun Valley ES from 5:30-7:30. This will be the final community budget forum for this school year. The link to the budget presentation is here
