Also, the essay should address your motivation in choosing nursing as your major, and about your career goals; 3) Optional: 1-page resume, 1-page addendum.

Criteria:                   

* Applicants have been accepted to either Truckee Meadows Community College or University of Nevada-Reno

* are high school seniors currently attending a high school in Washoe County, Nevada
* family income shows a need for tuition assistance
* have declared nursing as primary area of study
* unweighted cumulative high school GPA is 2.5 or better based on a 4.0 scale
* are of Hispanic heritage

Northern Nevada Youth Scholarship                                                                        Up to $1,000

Criteria: To support the student who will not qualify for other scholarships based on GPA but demonstrates commitment, passion, and drive.  This student has experienced that “AHA moment” and has determined to change his/her life. The scholarship will pay up to $1,000 for certificate programs at private trade schools, Truckee Meadows Community College, and Western Nevada Community College.

Reno Central Rotary Bill Winks Memorial Scholarship                                              Up to $1,000

Criteria:           You: are a senior attending the Academy of Arts, Careers, and Technology in Washoe County Nevada; will graduate in 2011 for a Washoe County, Nevada, high school; have a minimum 2.6 GPA; will attend college or technical school fulltime in the fall; family income shows a need for tuition assistance; are a citizen of the United States of America.
