Pre-ACT PLAN and EXPLORE testing Feb 5 and 12
The ACT offers a pre-ACT test called PLAN geared to grades 10 and 11, and another called EXPLORE for grades 8 and 9. In addition to being a dry run for the ACT, it provides a print-out of specific areas in which students need to improve for the ACT. ACT claims that those who take EXPLORE or PLAN are more likely to score higher on the ACT test. The four subject areas are English, reading, math and science, and the test takes about three hours.
We are offering four test times:
Sunday Feb 5, 9AM (nearly full) and 1PM
Sunday Feb 12, 9AM and 1PM
We recommend the 9AM slot as that is the same time of day you will take the real exam, but we understand some may not be able to participate at 9AM. You will receive results of this test in 3 weeks, well before the next ACT exam on April 14; registration deadline for that test is Mar 9. We will provide the schools with copies of the results so your teachers can help you also.
How to enroll: call or email the eLearning Café (

What to bring to the test: sharpened #2 pencils, a calculator if you want to use one (it is not required), and a watch to pace yourself. These are timed tests. And get a good night’s sleep the night before.
